A Typical Day at Cove Forge BHS of Williamsburg

For adults at Cove Forge, a typical day begins at 5:30 a.m. with a healthy breakfast and time to meditate, complete assignments and study. The rest of the day is structured with therapy groups, lectures, recreational activities, ropes initiatives and personal time.

Lunch begins around noon, followed by additional therapy groups to help clients learn how to manage withdrawal symptoms, stress and other common relapse triggers. There is also time set aside in the afternoon for movies, meditation and physical fitness.

Clients eat dinner at 4:30 p.m. The rest of the evening consists of Step study and 12-Step meetings, which teach clients about addiction and relapse and how the 12 Steps can assist them in their recovery. During quiet time, clients may journal, rest, study or review their goals for the day.

We offer a family program on Saturdays and family visitation on Sundays if the client has participated in the family program. Saturday nights are a special time to celebrate sobriety with stories and discussion around a campfire.
