Types of Treatment

Depending upon his or her specific strengths and needs, a participant’s personalized treatment plan at White Deer Run of Blue Mountain may feature the following elements:

Medication management: A staff physician, psychiatrist, and medical director are onsite on a weekly or biweekly basis to provide oversight for participants who receive medication management services. Nursing staff members are available 16 hours each day to monitor medication usage.

Individual therapy: Individuals in the residential rehabilitation program at our addiction rehab center participate in weekly individual counseling sessions. These one-on-one meetings with an experienced counselor allow participants to process successes and setbacks that they may have experienced during treatment and address issues or concerns that may have arisen.

Group therapy: Group therapy provides participants in the residential rehab program with the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others, share their own insights, and practice the interpersonal skills that will assist them in their recovery. Several groups are held each week, and the types of groups that are offered typically changed on a weekly rotation. There is usually a theme for the week, and all of the groups follow that theme. Though the specific content of each group will be determined by the needs of the group members, the following are among the many general topics that may be addressed:

  • Relapse Prevention
  • Disease Concept of Addiction
  • Grief and Loss
  • Trauma

Family therapy: At White Deer Run of Blue Mountain in Kempton, we understand the vital role that family can play in an individual’s recovery, and we endeavor to support health intrafamilial interactions via family therapy sessions when such sessions have been determined to be clinically appropriate. For this reason, we schedule family therapy sessions on an as-needed basis.

Continuing Care: One component of our dedication to participant-centered care is a thorough discharge planning process, which begins the day that an individual begins treatment at our rehab center. Discharge planning takes into account both the biopsychosocial assessment that each participant completes at the start of treatment and the progress that he or she makes throughout his or her residential treatment experience. The result is a comprehensive plan that identifies the support services and additional resources that will help each participant to experience continued success in the months and years following his or her time with us.

At White Deer Run of Blue Mountain in Kempton, we know that chemical dependency and co-occurring mental health conditions are complex challenges that demand concerted effort to overcome, and we honor the strength and courage of all who choose to heal with us. We are committed to providing clinically sophisticated care that is delivered in an atmosphere of dignity and respect and is designed to empower each participant to live a full and rewarding life, free from the chains of chemical dependency.
