What is HealthChoices?

HealthChoices is a state-level Medicaid expansion program that is managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). Behavioral healthcare, which includes rehab for substance abuse and addiction, is overseen by the DHS Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

The purpose of HealthChoices is to expand access to medical and behavioral healthcare services to Pennsylvania residents who do not have insurance and who may not have previously qualified for a traditional Medicaid coverage plan.

HealthChoices coverage is organized by counties. White Deer Run of Blue Mountain is able to accept HealthChoices as a funding source for individuals from the following counties:

With 16 centers located throughout Pennsylvania, the White Deer Run Treatment Network offers a full continuum of rehab services and related treatment options for men and women who are eligible to pay for their treatment with PA county funding through HealthChoices.
