Allenwood’s Women’s Residential Addiction Rehab Program

At White Deer Run at Allenwood, we help individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health issues build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.

What We Treat

At White Deer Run of Allenwood, we know that the road to recovery can be a lifelong process, so we created a specialized residential rehabilitation program designed specifically for women who would benefit from continued support as they continue to build their sober living skills. Our women’s addiction treatment program helps those who are struggling with addictions to a number of different substances, including:

  • Alcohol
  • Marijuana
  • Synthetic marijuana
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Opioids
  • Cocaine

We treat patients who have co-occurring mental health conditions in addition to substance use disorders. Co-occurring mental health disorders we commonly treat include:

  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depressive disorders
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Types of Treatment

At our addiction rehab center, the women’s residential rehabilitation program is open to females age 18 and older who have substance use disorders, as well as women who have substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Each patient’s length of stay in our program varies based on their needs. Our treatment team determines the length of stay based on an assessment and weekly progress updates. In the treatment program at our rehab center, we incorporate several evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, rational emotive behavior therapy, reality therapy, and choice theory, as well as the 12-Step model of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. We also offer a full range of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) options, such as Revia and Vivitrol, methadone maintenance, Suboxone maintenance, and Sublocade injections. Treatment is customized for each individual based on their unique needs and goals and typically includes:

Medication management: Women who have mental health concerns meet with our medical team soon after admission. Our center’s staff psychiatrist, physician assistants, and nursing team, consisting of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nurse practitioners, provide medication management services as needed.

Individual therapy: Individual therapy provides an opportunity for patients in the residential rehabilitation program to receive support and feedback from a compassionate professional. At our rehab center, patients take part in individual therapy at least once per week depending on their needs.

Group therapy: Groups are a fundamental component of treatment at White Deer Run of Allenwood. We offer multiple groups daily, seven days a week, including structured group activities and ancillary groups. Groups provide a chance for patients to support each other and learn from each other’s experiences. Structured activity groups are led by technicians, case managers, and counselors, and small groups and mental health groups are led by a counselor. Group topics can include:

  • 12 Steps: The first three steps
  • Coping strategies
  • Disease concept
  • Support system
  • Recovery celebrations
  • Back to the basics of a recovery program
  • Sponsorship
  • PAWS
  • 12-Step meetings
  • Women’s struggles
  • Living skills
  • Community meetings
  • Self-care
  • Understanding mental health disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

Experiential therapy: In addition to the traditional groups described above, White Deer Run of Allenwood provides a number of experiential therapies. These experiential therapies take place at least three days per week and may include:

  • Art therapy
  • Auricular and whole-body acupuncture
  • Hiking trails
  • Meditation
  • Music programming
  • Guided imagery
  • Living Waters Christian services
  • Reiki
  • Outdoor low ropes course

Family therapy (family services): Families can often be a strong source of support for women who are struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. As a result, counselors at our rehab center provide weekly family therapy services for patients.

Continuing care: A journey to recovery can be a lifelong process, and at White Deer Run of Allenwood, we are committed to helping our patients have the best chance of success. We begin discharge planning on the first day of treatment so that each person has an opportunity to build on the progress she has made during residential treatment once she is discharged.

Co-occurring disorders: We understand the unique challenges that come when someone struggles with both a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health disorder, so we provide a specialized track for patients who have co-occurring disorders. Women in the co-occurring disorders track receive individual and group therapy that can help them build skills and achieve lasting healing.

If you are struggling with a substance use disorder or co-occurring disorders, the staff at White Deer Run of Allenwood is here to help. By receiving care at our addiction rehab center, you can take the first steps on your journey to recovery and begin a life free from the chains of substance abuse.
